William Alexander 1935-1988 was an American potter-ceramicist and firing safety innovator. Working at both the University of Ccolorado and Montana he developed fire safety protocol in firing clay. The signature on the bottom indicates this piece was done after 1967. There is some wear and possibly a firing hairline fissure, not exactly a Crack because it's only on the inside and about 1.25".
